At first glance, Ringo's just your typical school girl. She's a sweet girl who daydreams just like any other -- and hangs out with her friends, contributing when her head isn't in the clouds. She carries on with her life just like any other--
Except for when she's freaking crazy.
There are girls who have crushes on boys, right? That's fine. They may be shy around them, stutter and blush profusely whenever their crush so much as looks in their direction. Well, Ringo does all of those things - but she does more than that, even. She even goes so far as to stalk Tabuki, the man that she's bent on being with - who is actually a teacher. Her entire life revolves around the fact that she will get together with him.
Why does she think this? Well, because her diary told her so.
Ringo's really big on destiny - she cites everything that goes according to her plan, loosely or not, as "destiny". The diary predicted that she would spend the evening with Tabuki, so she went to his crawlspace and slept there, where she had had a pallet of her own made beforehand. It was loose, but it was still described, in her mind, as spending the night with Tabuki. Same went for when she brought curry over to his house once; she had realized on getting there that there was a girl there. So in an attempt that Tabuki would eat her curry, she switched out the pots, even though the pot that was already at his house was burning hot. Through sheer stubborness, she managed to get a hold of it and carry it away, switching it with her own pot in the process.
Yes, Ringo is very stubborn on what she believes her own "destiny" is going to be, but in doing that she's also selfish. She never actually asks for anyone's feelings that she so carelessly gets into her schemes, she just thinks the way she imagined it will be the way it will be. Because her diary is always correct, that meant that nothing would change that. So therefore she manipulates Tabuki into her own schemes and forces the unwilling Shouma into doing it, while holding her diary over Shouma's head. She knew that he had wanted it to help Himari, but she was still holding it over his head as a bargaining chip. So without ever asking for his opinions on anything, she continued to use Shouma as she felt like she needed to to win over Tabuki.
On one hand, not to completely say that it was alright to use others, sometimes it was unintentional. Ringo had the tendency to not really think things through, and when something began to spin out of control, she would jump into something without thinking twice about the consequences. Even when it wasn't a split decision that wasn't thought through, it was something else that she was desperately jumping to. Her hasty decision to "make Tabuki hers" wasn't well thought through, and when the time came to do what she needed to do, she froze. She had second thoughts, so she ran away from the situation, scared and unwilling to see her plan to the end.
However, there was a deeper reason why Ringo was like this. When she was a newborn, her sister died and as a result - her family started splitting apart. All she wanted was her family to be together again, and she started following the diary as a result. She honestly believed that if she became Momoka, she would regain the family she lost. That's why she was so extreme - because thinking that becoming her big sister entirely would make everything right again.
Finally, people actually...y'know, started to talk some sense into her. Yuri had a lot to do with it; she put the doubt in her mind that she didn't really love Tabuki. Instead, she pointed out that Ringo loved Shouma instead. She made Ringo question if she would really be happy if everything worked out according to her "destiny".
Other things started to leave up to it, and slowly but surely she began to change. She's still very stubborn and headstrong, but her personality started to change for the better - and sides of her that likely wouldn't have come up beforehand started to show.
Like when she found out Shouma's sob story? When she found out that his parents were responsible for the death of her sister, she wasn't angry at him. Ringo was shocked with him, of course, but in the end she forgave him. It wasn't directly him who had killed her sister, and so in doing that, she couldn't hate him. No matter how much he wanted it - she just couldn't do it.
That doesn't mean that she was always gentle with him, however. He still had a way to get under her skin that no one else could, despite his gentle demeanor. And...well, she loses his temper with him quite a bit and quite easily. He's really the only one she exhibits this kind of behavior to - quite different from the quiet schoolgirl appearance that she keeps up, yes?
Last but not least, she would lay down her life for the ones she loves. When she had found out the words to "transfer fate", she wanted no more to use that to save Himari from her fate of dying. Even if it cost her her life, she was going to do it - for everyone's sakes. In the end, Himari turned out to be a dear friend to her as well, and she wanted to help her and her brothers just as much as Shouma and Kanba wanted to help their sister.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
+ loyal to her friends
+ brave and willing to take charge if she feels like she needs it.
+ able to forgive others if she so desires.
- doesn't think before she does things
- she's very insecure, due to the fact that she's "not Momoka".
